7mm Railway People.

heros of the footplate 1Some weeks ago, Pete Armstrong asked me if I would review some of his miniature people designed for 7mm, or, more correctly in this case, 1:43 scale.

Two packs arrived, one a fireman leaning on a shovel and a driver, who has extra arms including one with a mug of tea.  They had little or no flash and the driver will stand up if the soles of his boots are filed flat.

crew taking a team breakThey are designed to fit the 1940s scene and, though I have photographed them on the ground (when they got off to take a break), are meant to be fitted in a cab.

I cannot see much, if any, difference between them and the men I remember at Tyseley so they should cover for the fifties and early sixties too.

Ian has done a great job of painting them and they are pictured by the only engine I have that is suitable for them since my modelling period is now 1900-10.

They will be fitted into the cab in due course. I think they are excellent.
