First 0 Gauge Build
Manufactured by:  Jamieson (I think)

Built by: Raymond Walley
LMS Black 5Sometime in about 1979, when I leaned strongly toward EM, I was asked to build a Black 5 by the owner of a model shop in Exeter, whose name I can now no longer recall.

I had never built anything so large before but I had mastered building Mallard kits so this seemed like an interesting project to get involved in.  I think the kit may have been by Jamieson but I am not sure.  However, if there is anyone out there who can throw some light on the probable manufacturer, I'd be happy to hear from you.

The following pictures, not good I am sorry to say, are the only record I have of this build.  I have no memories of encountering any horrors so it must have gone together quite well.  I think it must have had a solid chassis and it certainly has a worm a gear drive.  I shudder to think what current it must have been drawing.

On reflection, the paint job looks OK, I used an air brush then but the transfers look terrible and it looks as though the pick-up came as a ready made item.
